Advice
Always:
- You must show that you have failed to successfully recruit a UK Resident Worker.
- Keep evidence of the recruitment methods you’ve used;
- Make sure you have short listed all the candidates that applied for the position;
- Make sure that you are able to pay the Non-European the same salary as you would to a resident national. Photocopy al their documents
- You must show that you have inspected the nationality and immigration status of the Non-European;
- You must show that your Business or Company can justify why the vacancy must be met;
- You must show that you meet all the verification requirements expected by UK Border Agency;
- Ensure that you have inspected all the qualifications and work experience letters from the Non-European, so that you can assess them, before deciding to sponsor;
- Make sure that you are aware of your liabilities as an employer before committing to the sponsorship;

Never
- Do not employ a Non-European until the work permit permission has been granted;
- Avoid promises that you will sponsor if the Non-European starts work sooner;
- You are at risk of paying a heavy fine for employing illegal workers with no immigration status or an overstayer in the UK.
